Benefits to self
Nightline offers you an opportunity to deliver a crucial support service out of hours to your peers. You will develop active listening and communication skills to enable you to offer emotional support to people in distress.
Benefits to others
Nightline is a key component of the support available to students through the night. They have a point of contact when they need someone to talk to who will simply listen when they need it most, increasing wellbeing and support across campus.
Strathclyde and Caledonian Unions
Full training is delivered once per semester and is compulsory to join. This involves two Monday evenings and one full weekend of training (all day Saturday and Sunday) in either October or February.
Support and supervision details
Supervision and support is offered by staff coordinators at the Union and GCU Students' Association, the Vice President Volunteering and Development, and fellow volunteers.
