Fundraising Event Volunteer (MS Walk Glasgow)

This opportunity takes place on 28 Sep 2024 Closing date for applications is 27 Sep.

We are looking for an incredible team of volunteers who will be helping to make MS Walk 2024 in September bigger and better than ever.

We’re fundraising so we can run services and support for people with MS, and so we can fund our ground-breaking research program that aims to stop MS altogether.

MS Walk Glasgow is back for 2024 and we are looking for an incredible team of volunteers who will be helping to make MS Walk 2024 bigger and better than ever.

As our Fundraising Events Volunteer you’ll help us to deliver fun and exciting fundraising events. Your responsibilities can include helping with preparation and setting up, registration, meeting and greeting people, marshalling and stewarding and supporting our fundraising events participants.

There are various roles available on the day from making some noise and encouraging our walkers, to looking after the route and handing out medals at the finish.

Join our team of MS Walk volunteers and support everyone who is walking, rolling and strolling to stop MS.

This role is only required on 28th September 2024 for one day and there are various times throughout the day. Shifts will be from 2-6 hours depending on role and location.

There are no specific skills required just enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.

What the role involves
This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:

  • Participating in fundraising events throughout the year with some involvement in preparations on the day
  • Cheering on our team at one of our cheer points to give them a much-needed boost
  • Meeting and greeting, marshalling or stewarding
  • Helping at the registration desk for larger events
  • Promoting activities on the day
  • Cash handling

The 2024 event will have around 500 participants who will be walking through Glasgow on either the 1km, 5km, 10 or brand new 20km route.

Together these walkers will be hoping to raise over £50,000 for the MS Society.

When you volunteer with us, you join our powerful community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers.
