Digi-PALS Volunteer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date. Closing date for applications is 31 Aug.

This is an exciting opportunity to help people to take their first steps in digital learning, or assist those who already have some basic digital skills to better understand and engage with the online services which have the potential to make a real difference to their day-to-day lives.

Our Digi-PALS Volunteers are on hand to help individuals within Glasgow Libraries use their Computer, Tablet, Laptop, Book-Reader and Smartphone. During drop-in sessions our friendly volunteers are asked to assist with various digital and online activities including:

- Printing and scanning

- Using the internet and email

- Sending attachments such as a CV

- Navigating online forms

- Downloading apps or e-books

- Transferring photographs from a digital camera to a computer, memory stick or cloud storage

- Accessing social media

- Using Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and Facetime

Applicants will be invited by email to an informal interview within 4 weeks of their application.

Training available

Full training will be provided at the time of your induction. Training will take half a day and is required before you commence your role. Ongoing training opportunities and access to a peer support network will be made available to you.
