Flamingo Beach Volunteer @ Silverburn

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Following the success of the past two years, Silverburn is partnering with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity and bringing back Flamingo Beach for another year! Flamingo Beach will be located inside the shopping centre and will be open to children and families visiting. For an entry fee, visitors will gain access to the beach and have the opportunity to play in the sand, build sand castles, and play with beach toys. Parents and carers will have a comfortable decking area to relax while their children enjoy the space.

The indoor beach will be open each day from Friday, 20th June to Sunday, 24th August, and we’re looking for weekend volunteers to help support this exciting activity.

Volunteer Tasks

  • Welcome families to the beach and collect entry fees
  • Support children and families to ensure everyone is safe and happy
  • Staff the small retail space beside the beach, selling themed merchandise
  • Help maintain a positive and fun atmosphere for all visitors

Shift Times

  • 9:30am to 1:30pm
  • 1:30pm to 5:00pm
  • Weekend shifts only (Saturday and/or Sunday)

Shifts are flexible, and volunteers can choose weekends and shift durations that work best for them.

Wellbeing & Inclusion

  • GCHC is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming space for all volunteers.
  • Volunteers can share any access or support needs during onboarding.

Recognition

  • Volunteers are warmly recognised and thanked throughout the event.
