Community Allotment Volunteer

Want to get your hands dirty, grow fresh produce, and make a real impact in your community? Join us at our vibrant, award-winning community allotment on Drumlanrig Avenue, Easterhouse.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just curious to give it a go, we welcome volunteers of all experience levels. All you need is a positive attitude and a willingness to muck in — we’ll support you every step of the way.

What You Can Get Involved In:
- Planting, weeding, and harvesting 
- Painting and beautifying the space 
- Helping with site maintenance and small repair projects 
- Supporting community plots

Skills Required: 
•    Enjoy being outdoors, in all weather
•    Happy to get your hands dirty
•    Willing to learn and try new tasks
•    Able to work as part of a team and follow guidance
•    Reliable and community-minded
•    Respectful, inclusive, and open to working with people of all ages and backgrounds

Time Commitment:
We’re ideally looking for a regular commitment of 2+ hours per week, but we’re flexible — even a little time makes a big difference.

Mondays: Between 12:30-3:00pm 

Tuesdays: Between 11:30-3:00pm (men only due to jaggy nettles men's club)

Thursdays: Between 12:00-3:00pm

Our community allotment is a cherished green space where local nurseries, schools, adult clubs, and families come together to sow, grow, and thrive. The allotment is a vital community resource in Easterhouse and your volunteering will help FARE keep the allotment growing.

Training available

Our resident gardening expert will walk you through every task so that you feel prepared for your volunteering role. Our volunteer coordinator will also give you a full induction to the organisation and the volunteer role.

During your volunteering you will never be left alone - Susan will be with you every step of the way. Our volunteer coordinator will also be your main point of contact for any concerns, issues and support you need.
