· Supporting people seeking asylum to overcome social isolation and attend community activities
· Assisting befriendee to access community support services
· Identifying community activities suitable to befriendee’s interests
· Providing CIS with regular updates on progress and attending debrief meetings
What skills do I need?
· Good English language skills
· Knowledge of the issues people in the asylum system face
· A friendly and empathetic approach, with good listening skills
· Reliability and punctuality, particularly when meeting with befriendee
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Commitment to equalities, human rights and anti-discrimination
