Volunteer to help young people have a voice at local elections.
Click this link for more information and to sign up to volunteer.
Did you know local elections have a huge effect on the area you live in and the quality of our lives?
They decide who’s in charge of our city, town or village. As well as who will enforce housing standards, set local bus, tram and train routes and make sure our health services, libraries and arts venues keep their doors open. All of this can be decided by who’s voted into councils on local election day.
But young people - particularly renters - are massively underrepresented in UK local elections. This means our voices are not being heard by local candidates and there’s less reason for them to act in our interests.
Will you help change this? Take 2 minutes to join our community of digital volunteers using social media to share how important local elections are, and encourage your friends and peers to show up on polling day.
What will you need to do?
The goal? Better conversations, better turnout and better representation of young voices in our local areas.
You don’t need any experience to join us - all volunteers will receive:
