Pride House Glasgow returns in 2026 as the official LGBTIQ+ hub of the Commonwealth Games, a vibrant, visible and vital space at the heart of the city. We will be operating between the 22nd of July and the 3rd of August 2026. At its core, Pride House is a free, welcoming drop-in venue where LGBTIQ+ people, athletes, visitors and allies can: • Watch and engage with the Games together • Feel safe, seen and celebrated • Connect with community, culture and sport In 2026, Pride House will expand into a multi-venue campus which includes: • Speakeasy (City Centre) the main Pride House Lounge and daily drop-in space • Boardwalk (Impact Arts): the Pride House Events Room - an additional events and cultural programme venue • Bigglestone Books: the Pride House Reading Room - a place to drop in for a chat To maximise the success of this event, Pride House Glasgow are recruiting a team of volunteers from all walks of life to support our front of house, back of house and specialist activities. All of our roles are available to individuals aged 18 or over, regardless of their background – some checks may take place for compliance purposes. All volunteers must be willing to abide by LEAP Sport Scotland’s values and code of conduct. We will aim to provide as much flexibility as possible when it comes to dates and times, though participants will be asked to adhere to a shift pattern wherever possible and all work will take place between July 22nd and August 3rd. Most work will be on site though there will be some limited possibility for home-based working. Front of House

Our Front of House team will be the first faces visitors see when they enter our Pride House venue and event spaces. We’re looking for individuals with great people skills and confidence to carry out a range of tasks which could include:

  • Helping out on our reception desk
  • Checking in guests for ticketed events
  • Asking attendees for feedback on the event and our wider programme
  • Inviting passers by to drop in
  • Making sure guests are comfortable and have everything they need

 

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Is a self-starter and able to carry out tasks using their initiative
  • Has or is looking to gain experience in the hospitality or service industries engagement background.

Training available

Task specific training will be delivered for each role. General training on inclusivity will be offered. Volunteers will be welcome to participate in as much training as they would like.

Support and supervision details

There will be at least two staff members available to volunteers at all times. There is a clear policy on reporting, and on escalation of any incidents so volunteers feel empowered to deal with any issues.
