WISE Mentoring is a community organisation that supports children living in the North East of Glasgow by focusing on Wellbeing, Inspiration, Support and Empowerment. As a Volunteer Mentors you will take part in weekly mentoring sessions in a primary school, guiding the children through a "character and wellbeing" curriculum which cover topics such as the growth mindset and resilience.

You will be trained in safeguarding procedures and trauma-informed practices, including PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) so that you can create a safe environment to connect with children and help them to grow and learn. 

During weekly sessions, you will participate in group and one-to-one mentoring, going on a journey through our "character and wellbeing" curriculum that covers the following topics: self knowledge, the growth mindset, goal setting, resilience, self control and fairness.

Support and supervision details

Project Leaders will provide direct support and supervision throughout the year. Supervision will be held after each project every week to reflect on the session: what went well, what did not, what support you would like, etc. We provide important training sessions throughout the year.
