Fundraising Leader (Volunteer)

Make a difference for women, with women.

Common Thread Vision (CTV) is a small Glasgow charity based in Pollokshields, supporting older women to stay connected, independent and well. Our work helps reduce loneliness and social isolation.

We’re looking for a passionate female volunteer to lead a friendly fundraising group and help raise vital funds to support our services.

You’ll bring women together, encourage ideas and help organise enjoyable community fundraising activities such as coffee mornings, bake sales and other fundraising events. You’ll receive support from the Chair and can volunteer flexibly around your other commitments.

You’ll Need to Be:

• Aged 18+.
• Friendly, organised and enthusiastic.
• Comfortable bringing people together and encouraging others.
• Happy working with and supporting other women.

Location & Flexibility

The role is based in Pollokshields, Glasgow, with some planning and communication that can be carried out from home. The volunteer will also need to be comfortable getting out and about in Pollokshields and surrounding areas to support fundraising activities, approach local businesses and organisations, and help develop community fundraising opportunities.

Travel Expenses

We reimburse all pre-agreed costs. Reasonable return travel expenses for attending volunteering sessions will be reimbursed. This includes return bus, train and underground fares. Volunteers using their own car can claim mileage at £0.45 per mile for the return journey. Taxi fares will not be reimbursed. All travel expenses must be supported by a valid receipt or other proof of travel where applicable.

PLEASE NOTE

This role supports a women-only group. To maintain the safe and comfortable environment our participants have asked for, we are currently seeking female volunteers for this particular opportunity.

The initial informal meeting may take place online. We are particularly looking for volunteers who live in Pollokshields or the surrounding areas, or within a reasonable travelling distance.
