Help me to make my Mark and let the sun shine on Leith

  • I believe the mental health training aspect that has recently been included in ClubMark is vital and should be implemented to the maximum.  I want increased help for students regarding this by giving students easier access to more leaflets, providing help and advice on campus; and drop-in sessions carried out by professionals.
  • Currently, the involvement of women in sport and coverage of woman’s’ team sports at Strathclyde could be implemented more effectively.  I aim to achieve this by trying to organise more This Girl Can activities and collaborating on the Union’s #ThisStrathGirlCan campaign as well as improving their advertisement, and discussing with women’s’ team captain’s various ways to improve coverage and participation.
  • From personal experience, trying to get classes off to compete in BUCS matches on Wednesday afternoons can often be difficult. Because of this I aim to have Wednesday afternoons free for all to spend for extra-curricular activity.
  • The increase in communication with the sports union and the LGBT society is hugely important in the aim of making sport at Strathclyde inclusive to all students so I want to build on this by communicating closely with the newly appointed Inclusion Officer to consider the best ways to get even more students involved in sport.
