Candidate for the position of NUS Scotland Conference Delegate

An NUS Delegate committed to campaigning against fees, exploitation, and climate change!

Hi, I am Kayla Burns your current president at StrathUnion, but why should you vote for me as one of your NUS Scotland Delegates?
 
If elected I will ensure that issues faced by Strathclyde students stay at the top of the NUS agenda, such as:
 
  • Tuition fee reductions and refunds for COVID-19
  • Fair funding for students
  • Stop student exploitation
  • Fair and proper regulation of private halls providers
  • Sustainability
 
Many of these objectives also intersect with what I am doing as your StrathUnion President, however we are stronger together. If I was elected as your NUS Scotland delegate this would allow me to not only ensure that these issues remain as national priorities in NUS, but it would also allow me to build networks and garner the necessary support to ensure that they get the proper attention and action from the Scottish Government as well.
 
I have previous experience as an NUS delegate and have had policy passed in this capacity at a digital NUS UK conference in March 2020. I have also written and passed policy in Strathclyde’s own Student Parliament too!
