Stand with me and we stand together!

Hello, my name Ariadna but please call me Aria. I am running for VP Welfare because as a fellow student, I have also struggled with mental health, finances and housing. These are hardships that none of us should ever have to face and this especially troublesome period has really inspired me by igniting a sense of purpose in me.

I have been a committee member of the Feminist Society for 3 consecutive years. I have also taken the responsibilities of a Class Rep for 2 years. Both positions have given me the opportunity to develop my communication and diplomacy skills. They have further enforced my capacity to be patient, empathetic and persistent in order to achieve the best interest of my fellow peers.

If elected I will aim to:

  • Decrease student housing cost, both in student halls and private accommodation, as well as decrease student homelessness.
  • Provide more student jobs on campus and more help for students on how to find a job both on and off campus.
  • Increase the quality and quantity of mental health resources available for students, especially LGBTQIA+ students and sexual assault survivors. Part of this is also minimizing the waiting time for counselling.

I think these aims will have a positive impact on the entire student cohort, but especially on disadvantaged students, since I believe they can make the student experience easier. Feel free to get in touch with me with any queries on my ideas by contacting me at ariadnaraducanu@gmail.com.
