Candidate for the position of Faculty Rep Business Undergraduate
A New Approach to the New Normal!
I'm Arran, a 3rd year Entrepreneurship and BAT student at SBS.
Over the past three years I have acted as a class representative within the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship! I loved my time as a student rep, acting as a liaison between my peers and members of faculty. This year I want to take it one step further!
As we (hopefully!) return to the 'New Normal' I intend to push for the following policies to be implemented:
1. The introduction of peer assessments for all assessed group work. Like many of you, I have a love/hate relationship with group work. We've all had bad experiences working in groups. Students should be able to assess the contributions of their peers and this feedback should be reflected in the allocation of marks!
2. Greater enforcement of the three-week turnaround policy. Whilst we appreciate that this is a difficult time for students and staff alike, any necessary or unavoidable delays should be communicated to students in good time.
3. A focus on ensuring student safety as we return to face-to-face learning on campus. As Zoom classes come to an end, this will undoubtedly bring unexpected challenges. A clear and consistent line of communication is essential to ensuring the best possible quality of education whilst keeping students and staff safe and healthy.
If you agree with me on any of these issues then be sure to vote!
