Candidate for the position of Faculty Rep Humanities and Social Sciences Undergraduate
Honest discussion, Honest action.
Hello,
My name is Devin Eyre I am a 2nd year English Law LLB Student.
Some of you may know me from my role as the head academic events coordinator for the Strathclyde Law Society, my role in the student liaison where I represent the entirety of the English Law LLB degree, or my writings for the strathclyde non-law review.
My role as the head academics coordinator for the university's largest society leaves me with valuable experience to listen to the experiences and needs of students and create spaces for these experiences to be heard, and these needs met.
My long standing writings for the strathclyde non-law review details my continued goal of supporting student wellbeing and mental health prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Being a consistent member of the student liaison committee has given me a deep understanding of what it means to be present, motivated and involved during meetings which concern the welfare and wellbeing of students. In these meetings I collect and represent the views of students. I always communicate honestly and openly, and in doing so I receive clear responses I can then pass along to the student body to ensure that their voices are being heard. As opposed to other candidates I am determined to go that step further to ensure honest action is taken so that these voices are not ignored.
A vote for me guarantees honest communication between myself, the student body and the faculty.
