I believe that everyone should have the fair opportunity to produce the best results in their academics.
Because of this, I would strive to ensure that the department takes care of its various students through catering to different learning preferences. It is important to understand that not ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to learning and so intentional and thoughtful teaching are things that I would like to strengthen within the department.
Furthermore, ensuring that preferences, ideas, likes and dislikes of the students within HASS are voiced and necessary action is taken. As a person of colour, I would also ensure that POCs are also heard and represented.
