Candidate for the position of Vice President Welfare
"Make your voice heard. Choose a leader who puts students first."
My name is Sukhvinder Dhadiyal, and I am running for the position of Vice President Welfare. I have an MBA in marketing, and I have worked for multiple companies like Reliance, etc. in India, where I served as the marketing head. Through my experiences, I have learned that the most important thing is to put the needs of the people first. I know the first-hand difficulties that international students can face when they come to a new city, and I am committed to making sure that all students have the support they need to thrive.
My priority as VP Welfare will be to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals. One of my key initiatives will be to focus on mental health support, providing resources and information to help students cope with the pressures of university life. I also aim to advocate for better accommodation and job opportunities, so that students can focus on their studies without worrying.
My strategy for achieving these goals will involve collaboration with staff and students at the university, as well as outside organizations and businesses. I will work closely with the Student Union to create a more inclusive and supportive community, and I will advocate for policies that benefit all students, regardless of their background.
I believe that my experience in marketing, combined with my passion for helping others, make me the ideal candidate for this role. We together can create a better, more supportive environment for all students at the University of Strathclyde.
