Candidate for the position of Vice President Sport
Kyle P for Sports VP
My name is Kyle Prothero and I'm running for Sports Vice President
The social aspect within sport is just as vital as the physical one, therefore I want to revive the clubhouse at Stepps Pavilion, which would include opening the Bar upstairs. Utilising the full potential of Stepps will create a space for clubs to socialise after a well-deserved win and will strengthen the sporting community at Strathclyde.
I know how stressful it can be as a commuting student carrying around not just your uni bag but also a sports bag, with nowhere to keep either safe. To stop this, I want to put in 20 lockers on campus to be used by students to drop their belongings day or night.
Food is a massive part of both our physical and mental wellbeing, so I want to promote healthier eating within the union and on campus to make sure everyone is fueled properly for their studies and sport.
I want to give more support to clubs to provide officiating and coaching qualification opportunities for their members. This will improve the quality of sport within the university as well as enhancing the skillset within each club in the Sports Union.
The Sports Union is constantly evolving and with that I want to ensure it is an environment where everyone feels welcome and can make the most of their time involved in university sport.
