Active Body, Healthy Mind, Better Grades

The position of the Vice President of Sports didn’t interest me until I bumped into the anxiety and mental health statistics in Glasgow, Scotland and the UK at large where one to three people are estimated to be affected by mental illness in any one year as stipulated by the Scottish government. This is basically due to causes of which low physical activity is prevalent and I am willing to wage war against these statistics with your support. When elected, I will be concerned with initiatives that will aid build careers as has been the university’s pride in previous years. Measures will be put in place to harness individual sports personnel’s potential.

Sport fans won’t be left out as plans to engage sports lovers of various sporting activities will be introduced to engage people in the various sport activities to aid build strong bodies and minds. I have began this initiative among football funs dubbed football for fun and will be extended to other sporting fields. As a health trainer and a semi pro Sportsman I intend to

  • Organize carefully selected weekly training sections lead by myself with students, targeted at reducing stress levels and increase health of participants to shield ourselves against any of the aforementioned conditions.
  • Use sports as a medium to bring people together, those who are new to this environment, to rekindle the joy in people and covertly reduce risks of stress and anxiety.
