Megan Kerr

Hello, my name in Megan Kerr and I will be running for Sports Vp 2023/24. All my life I have had a passion for sports, from cheerleading with my sisters as soon as I could walk to playing volleyball for more than half my life. My main belief is inclusivity within sport, being the wellbeing officer for the Strathclyde volleyball team has inspired me to continue this love throughout the next year in sports. Sports should be available for every person, whether that is creating a safe space for women in sport by creating women only sessions or by a new initiative to make inclusive sport more achievable than ever before. As part of my manifesto I would like to create a “buddy system” where people interested in sport can reach out and gain a new friend/buddy to attend a sports session with. This will create a comfortable environment for those new to sports, allowing them to confidently branch out and try new things with the support of their buddy! The sports achievements within the SU are colossal, and deserve to be showcased throughout the union and university as a whole. Coming from a wellbeing background, I have been emerged in the fantastic courses on offer within the university/SU, further promotion of these workshops are vital and will benefit the stressed university student. Healthy Mind, Healthy Body. A Vote for me is a vote for continuous support and a fun filled SU.
