My name is Michael-Sam Vidza Jnr., a postgraduate student in Satellite Application (With Data Science) and I am running for the position of Postgraduate Students Rep.

The courage to volunteer comes from a willingness to serve people of different backgrounds, races, religions, cultures and gender types which is a sign of a better tomorrow and I stand for the aforementioned.

In readiness to serve, I engaged a number of both postgraduate taught and research students to identify ways to promote inclusivity on campus thereby developing the following as my key commitments.

1. Organize a series called “What’s Next After PG”  for postgraduate students . This includes information about travel, study & work, visa extension, post-study extension, opportunities,
2. Improved social events and networking opportunities for postgraduate students
3. Working with Student Union President and VP Education to lobby university for further funding for discretionary funds for postgraduate students (both locally and international students) and conference funds for research students
4. Organizing more writings and exam session for first time postgraduate students
5. Effective forums as platforms to raise and address postgraduate students concerns
6. Working with VP Community to revamp the postgraduate students society
