Sports Union General Committee Meeting 5
Sports Union General Committee Meeting’s – commonly known as a GM – are important dates in the diary for Sports Club committees. The GM is your main forum to meet with the Sports President and Executive Committee to discuss various current matters.
GM’s are also attended by senior staff from University who provide an update on all things concerning student sport within the institution.
We’re also adding a training and education flavour to GM’s this year, with all gatherings supported by an external speaker or trainer with the aim of increasing committee awareness on current topics in student sport. The theme for 2019-20 will be Inclusive Sport, with bite size seminars planned around initiations, mental health and suicide awareness, disability sport, bystander intervention and LGBTI equality in sport.
Please note attendance of 2 sports club committee members is mandatory. Should a club fail to have 2 members at a meeting, without sending apologies 2 days in advance, a fine may be imposed in line with Incentives & Fines Policy.
