Come and join StrathQuiz as we launch our new society with a Pub Quiz. The questions are all written by University Challenge team members, but we promise they won't be quite as insanely obscure! The evening will be a chance to test your general knowledge as well as meet the society and find out what our aims are.

The committee will explain some of the aims of the society and we will answer any questions from potential members.

The society is currently run and the questions are set by the current University of Strathclyde University Challenge team who just scored an unprecedented 6th place in the competition for the University.

StrathQuiz aims to be an inclusive and welcoming environment for anyone interested in general trivia and useless bits of information. We are not a super competitive society and all the questions in the quiz are gettable. We will, however, offer the chance to engage in some competitve quizzing against teams from across the country.

Future events aim to encourage more diversity into the world of quizzing and we hope to collaborate with other societies to make specialist quizzes for those societies.

One particular aim is to increase the respresentation of women and people from minority groups on Strathclyde's University Challenge and Quiz Bowl teams.

However,the competitive side of quizzing is just one part of what we aim to do. We would also like to run fun quizzes and have informal events where we talk about useless and interesting facts - and perhaps even cheer on some Strathy quizzers on the telly!
