The University of Strathclyde Sports Union is a constituent group of Strathclyde Students Union and integrated working partner of Strathclyde Sport, the University’s sport and recreation department. Together, we recognise the importance of an active lifestyle in both the experience that it provides our shared audiences as well as the positive impact that it can have on our wellbeing.
The Sports Union seeks to appoint a Sport Development Coordinator to work within the Sport Coordinator team and support effective delivery of the sport participation work stream across the wider University of Strathclyde sport programme, including the entry level active campus sport offer, workforce opportunities and club development framework.
Based out of the £31m Strathclyde Sport facility, you will take responsibility for developing strong relationships between the Sports Union and campus partners to create and promote a safe and inclusive participation culture across the University, supporting an environment of wellbeing in which all students can get involved in sport and physical activity.
You will be a keen team player, with the ability to both supervise student staff, coaches and volunteers as well as build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we provide a full pathway of participation opportunities to our students, staff and partners. Specifically, you will be required to oversee the delivery of the multi-partner StrathActive participation programme.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual with experience of sport development in the UK, specifically within the higher education sport environment.
The successful candidate will be contracted to Strathclyde Students Union, operating out of the Sports Union office based in Strathclyde Sport.
