Volunteering for: SurfABLE Scotland and Friendly Access
The charities I volunteer with aim to get young people and adults with disabilities involved in the world around them, both by adjusting the environment to them, and acclimatising them to stressful situations. SurfABLE provides surf therapy and I helped out the most in the water as a volunteer teaching others to surf.
Since starting 2 years ago, I have also raised over £500 for them by completing a sponsored abseil and a 12 hour climbing marathon.
It's been amazing to see people with similar conditions to myself learning new skills and gaining confidence rapidly.
