Consultants named as project lead for appraisal of student sport at the University of Strathclyde
The University of Strathclyde Sports Union (‘Sports Union’), in partnership with Strathclyde Students’ Union and Strathclyde Sport, has appointed Scottish sport consultancy firm, Best & Randak Associates to lead a research project into a post-Covid operational structure for student sport at the University.
Best & Randak will support Strathclyde in developing a fit-for-purpose delivery model for sport and physical recreation, including a focus on the organisational positioning of the Sports Union. As part of the brief, Best & Randak will explore a series of options to develop evidence-based and costed business plans that will enable the Sports Union and campus partners to support student participation in sport and physical activity, centring on the increasing importance of student health and wellbeing
The Sports Union – who is the coordinating body for over 50 sports clubs and leads the University’s flagship social and recreational sport programme, StrathActive – will benefit from the extensive experience and technical expertise of Best & Randak Associates. The firm have delivered consultancy projects on behalf of various sport and higher education bodies, including Scottish Student Sport, Scottish Swimming, Scottish Disability Sport and the University of Edinburgh Sports Union.
The project is underpinned by strategic support from Strathclyde Students’ Union and Strathclyde Sport. Manish Joshi, Strathclyde Students’ Union CEO, and Neil Brown, Head of Sport, will lead the project working group alongside the Sports Union.
