Carers - Online Workshops!

The University are hosting a series of workshops for carers all throughout June.

Carer's - Introduction to Autism -
During this informal 1.5 hour session, there will be a short introduction to autism and then we will focus on practical strategies and tools parents and carers can use in their own lives. We will acknowledge the current circumstances autistic parent and carers are facing.

Carer's - Advocacy for Carers -
This is an hour long session outlining the main principles for self-advocacy with a Q&A opportunity.

Carer's - Assertiveness for Carers -
This workshop will offer tools and techniques to present yourself in a confident and assertive manner. It will help you get your message across and influence others in an effective and positive way whilst still maintaining your authenticity. The workshop will offer a number of different tools and techniques to help you in being more assertive.

The aim of this presentation is to provide valuable information to keep you and your family safe from the dangers of fire.

Carer's - Manual Handling for Carers.-
This manual handling briefing session provides guidance for manual handling activities undertaken by carers e.g. moving and assisting of people.The briefing aims to provide sufficient information to help carers reduce the risk of injury from moving and assisting activities.


Carer's - Wellbeing Wednesday Singing Club -
Together we will have fun learning simple breathing techniques, warm ups and popular songs. This is open to all levels of ability, all you need is enthusiasm.
