"During my time at Strathclyde, I have been heavily involved in the Debating Society's Committee, having held the positions of Schools Convener, Publicity Convener and most recently, President. I have also been involved with the Mooting Society and the Boardgames Society. As part of the Societies Exec, I hope to be able to ensure the same positive experiences I have had are available to all new Strathclyde students."
“ I am in my final year studying psychology and have been involved in clubs and societies since starting at Strath. I have enjoyed being able to contribute to the psychology society as Vice President and now president this year. I have also enjoyed being part of SUCB (Strathclyde University Concert Band). I look forward to getting stuck in to the Societies Exec committee and meeting new people.”
"I've been involved with many societies in my first year and I'm on the committee for Strathclyde Model United Nations. I have witnessed first hand the benefits societies have on students at university; from helping students integrate into the university lifestyle to enhancing key skills and attributes needed both in and out of university. I hope to draw on my experience from being a class representative, election candidate and an avid enthusiast for the development of societies at Strathclyde to maintain and improve the setting for which the Societies Exec operates in 20/21."
"Since beginning my PhD at Strathclyde just over a year ago, I have setup 3 clubs and societies: Strathclyde University Hot Air Ballooning Society, Strathclyde Speakers and reaffiliated TEDx University of Strathclyde. I strongly believe societies are the essential part of what makes students' experience at University unique and memorable. I want to promote greater collaboration between societies and use my experience to help all the different amazing clubs at Strathclyde to achieve incredible things!"
"Societies have played a huge part during my time at Strathclyde and now entering my final year I want to ensure as many students as possible can enjoy what our Societies have to offer. As the Vice President of Strathclyde Women in Leadership (WiLN) as well as being a part of the Societies Exec, I hope to encourage more students to get involved and enjoy as many amazing opportunities as they can!"
"I've been President of StrathTV (filmmaking society) for 3 years now. My team and I have collaborated with multiple Union clubs, ranging from the Piano Society to the Chinese Students & Scholars Society. This is my second year as a Societies Exec member, and I will continue to support the Union in any way I can and provide the best University experience to current and prospective students."
"As VP Community, I want to make sure that everyone can enjoy all areas of student life, whether that’s through societies, engagement with people, your course, or just having some fun on campus!"
