Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic Rep

The BAME Rep promotes inclusivity on campus and is a spokesperson for all students of African, Arab, Caribbean, Asian, Latin American and First Nation decent. The BAME Rep sits on the Strathclyde Students’ Union Equality Diversity Committee. The Rep directly reports to the Vice President Inclusion and works closely together with the Student Exec on campaigns concerning students identifying as BAME. The Rep must self-define as a BAME student enrolled at Strathclyde University. Honorarium of £600

Representing students staying both in Strathclyde University halls, and private halls, the Halls Rep is a spokesperson for students living in student accomodation, and sits on Strathclyde Students’ Union Welfare Committee. The Rep directly reports to the Vice President Welfare and works closely together with the Student Exec on campaigns concerning halls students. The Interfaith Rep promotes inclusion on campus and is a spokesperson for students of all faiths and none. The Rep sits on Strath Students’ Union Equality and Diversity Committee and on the panel allocating the Faith and Culture Fund. The Rep directly reports to the Vice President Inclusion and works closely with the Student Exec on campaigns concerning students of faith. Honorarium of £600.

Mature Students' Rep

The Mature Students’ Representative promotes inclusivity on campus, is a spokesperson for all students that are 21 years old or over at the start of their undergraduate programme or 25 years old or over at the start of postgraduate study. The Mature Students’ Rep sits on the Strathclyde Students’ Union Welfare Committee and attends Student Parliament. The Rep is responsible for organising a minimum of one campaign or project per semester that champions mature students’ issues and raises awaren

The Part Time Students’ Rep promotes inclusivity on campus and is a spokesperson for all students enrolled on a part time course at Strathclyde. The Rep sits on the Strathclyde Students’ Union Welfare Committee. The Part Time Students’ Rep directly reports to the Vice President Welfare and works closely with the VPW, the VP Inclusion and the remaining Student Exec on campaigns concerning part time students at Strathclyde. The Rep must be a part time student enrolled at Strathclyde University.

Postgraduate Students' Rep

The Postgraduate Students’ Rep promotes inclusivity on campus and is a spokesperson for all students that define as Postgraduate students. The Rep sits on the Welfare and Educations Committees. The Rep directly reports to the Vice President Welfare and works closely with the Student Exec and the postgraduate society on campaigns concerning postgraduate students. The Rep must be a postgraduate student enrolled at Strathclyde University. Honorarium of £600

This role will:

  1. Represent the voice of postgraduate students within the Union.
  2. Identify issues relevant to postgraduate students.
  3. Canvass postgraduate students’ opinion to be aware of common problems and concerns and where these exist ensure that Union Executive Committee/ Student Parliament are made aware of these.
  4. Run campaigns related to postgraduate student issues.
  5. Ensure that the needs of postgraduate students are reflected through the activities of the Union.
  6. Attend all relevant training, conferences and conventions that are relevant to the remit of this position.

These elected delegates represent Strathclyde Students at the annual NUS Scotland Conference. This is a democratic body of the National Union of Students, where regional policy is set, governance is amended and the next leaders of the student movement are elected. You must be available to attend conference between 11th-12th March 2021.
