Candidate Info

Important information and resources for candidates running in the Strath Union elections.

Please contact the Democracy team with questions about the Elections.

What are the Elections?

Once each semester, we run elections which elect a range of roles. These include the Presidents, Faculty Reps, Equality Officers and others. Details of all roles can be viewed in the role descriptions.

Role Descriptions

How can I get involved?

When nominations open you can nominate yourself for the positions you are eligible for. There may be some positions you are not eligible for. For example, only PGR students in Engineering can run to be the Postgraduate Research Faculty Rep.

You can also self-identify for a number of positions. For example only students who identify as Disabled can run for the Disability Equality Officer.

How can I find out more?

If you are interested in running, or want to find out more about the elections, we would recommend that you start with the Candidates Pack, as this has loads of information around the elections, budgets, rules, and more.
